After hanging out in Avalon for a few months, more attacks like the one the party discovered continued happening, about one every 10 days, with about 13 missing people, all human.
Until a middle aged man was witness to a fight between a woman person with large bat-like wings and a long blade against a dozen other people, during the short fight the woman killed 5 of her attackers before a giant orange bubble encased her and the attackers fled.
As the party investigated the scene of the fight a couple of hours later, the 5 bodies scattered around all had wings much like Dumoro and where brought away for research. Faelan also found the remains of a force bead, which was most likely the cause of the “giant orange bubble” the man spoke about.
They also had the guards that arrived on first at the scene help make a sketch of the woman they saw before she fled.
Later on the same day Faelan had a dwarf come knocking at his door, The dwarf wanted to talk about the dragon Faelan had asked around if anyone could make armor out of, he mentioned having previous experience in Volgarth before, they agreed to make a suit of dragon hide, since there wouldn’t be enough to make anything better for a human sized person.
A few days later Lilian informed the rest that they might have found a hideout for a group of the “vampires”, when the party arrived they found the building to be filled with corpses, after a quick headcount they found 8 dead, two of them with leathery wings, they also found a trapdoor leading to the basement.
Aritian began climbing down the ladder where he saw three human figures leaned up against the wall, when he made eye-contact with them they quickly revealed their leathery wings and jumped him, when the rest of the party had time to get in position Aritian was already heavily exhausted by the serlun’s attacks and soon fell to them.
The party managed to kill the rest of them, but before they could land a fatal blow, each of them wrapped themselves inside a cocoon of their wings, at the end of the basement they found another cocoon, one that had a golden katana laying besides it.
When the party approached the cocoon, it unraveled itself to reveal an elven woman inside, who reached out and grabbed the sword then took a defensive position, as the party splashed holy water on her she blocked most of the impact with her wing, although the liquid did consideal amount of damage, and yelled out that she was not their enemy and without her many more of the creatures would be in the city.
After a tense moment Arianah made the deal that if she told them how to kill the serlun for good they would let her go, much to the dispise of Faelan who would have like to cooperate with her. Caseris agreed and tossed her katana to the floor as she left the building.
